- Salome DennySalome Denny
Salome grew up in the mountains of England’s National Park (The Lake District), so has always had a passion for nature and all living things. Mountain climbing and hiking has instilled a great sense of calm and patience but also a drive to be challenged. As a young child she felt it was deeply wrong that all children don’t always get to enjoy the same kind of beauties in life, out of no choice of their own. Out of this has grown a desire to treasure Human Rights, and a dream to help others wherever they are in the world. Salome attained a bachelor’s degree in Criminology & Sociology, however decided shortly after to travel to Nepal where she volunteered with children in orphanages for 3 months. She fell totally in love with the people, the language, the culture and most of all the children. She has never felt so happy: playing football with the kids and seeing the smiles on their faces. Since then she has decided to travel more, learn more and experience more. She has now achieved a Master’s degree in International Peace and Development to support her dream of helping others. She is currently working in Cumbria and volunteers some of her time in advocating Human Rights and spreading awareness about the global refugee crisis.
